Rajan Suri founded the Center for Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and served as its director for 15 years. More than 300 companies have worked with the Center on understanding and implementing QRM strategies. Rajan has published several books on QRM as well as numerous articles in professional and academic journals.
Rajan is Emeritus Professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his Bachelors degree from Cambridge University (England) and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Harvard University.
Rajan combines his academic credentials with substantial industry experience. He has consulted for leading firms including Alcoa, Boeing, AT&T, Danfoss, Ford, Hewlett-Packard, Harley-Davidson, IBM, John Deere, National Oilwell Varco, Pratt & Whitney, Rockwell Automation and Trek Bicycle. Consulting assignments in Europe and the Far East, along with projects for the World Bank, have given him an international perspective on manufacturing competitiveness.
Rajan is President of Suri Consulting and Seminars, LLC, an organization that provides QRM training for companies and industry associations.
Rajan received the prestigious Albert M. Sargent Award from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) for the creation and implementation of QRM strategy. He has received numerous other awards and recognitions including:

- Outstanding Simulation Publication from The Institute of Management Sciences
- Eckman Award from American Automatic Control Council
- Honored with status of Fellow of SME
- Inducted into the Industry Week Manufacturing Hall of Fame
